If you are tired of using chemical fertilizers here are some organic homemade fertilizers for you to replenish your soil with no side effects.

1. Spontaneous Plants (Khar-Patwar) Fertilizer

It is one of the easiest fertilizer to make you just need to collect weeds from your farm and put them in a bin. And add 5 times the water compared to the weeds and let it stay like that for almost 2 weeks after covering it up. Drain out the mixture and dilute the liquid by adding 10 times more water to it and your fertilizer is ready.

2.Vermi Compost

Vermi Compost is ideal compost made with the help of waste produced by earthworms. For this, you just need to make a bin of worms by adding water-soaked papers, cardboard and cow dung at the bottom of the bin. And add earthworms with semi-composed compost and wet non-acidic kitchen waste like tea leaves, peels and coffee grounds etc in this bin. After a few months, your compost is ready.

3. Compost Tea Fertilizer

Compost tea fertilizer is rich in lots of nutrients that are useful for the growth of plants. To make this ideal fertilizer you just need to add good well-aged compost to 5 gallons of water in the ratio of 1:5 and keep it for 3-4 days. Make sure to stir them daily for these 3-4 days after these 3-4 days you just need to drain out the mixture from a porous cloth and dilute the liquid you got by adding water in 1:10 ratio to it. You can spray this fertilizer on leaves of your plant and put the left out compost back in the compost pit.

4.. Pot Compost

It is rich compost that is made from the wet household wastes that include leftover food, vegetable and fruit peels etc. You need to first put this wet waste in a pot and add dry leaves in the same quantity to it. Then you need to add cow dung or buttermilk to it while making sure that it is neither too damp nor too dry and you stir or mix it up regularly until it’s full. When it’s full keep it open for 30-45 days and then transfer it into another big bin and keep it for another 2 months. After 2 months your nutrient-rich pot compost will be ready.

5. Eggshell Fertilizer

Eggshells contain a little amount of nitrogen, phosphoric acid and a large amount of Calcium Carbonate that can be used as a replacement of Lime. They maintain the pH of the soil and save their root for getting damaged. You just need to wash and dry them and then crush or grind them with a grinder and put it on your farm.

6.Banana Peel Liquid Fertilizer

This fertilizer is another easy one to make you just need to soak banana peels for a few days in water and your fertilizer is ready. As bananas are rich in potassium, phosphorus and calcium this fertilizer is really helpful for the growth of roses.

7. Wood Ash Fertilizer

Yes, the wood ash from your fireplace can be a great source of calcium, potassium, boron and phosphorus and can be used instead of lime in your farms directly. But don’t add too much of it as it is alkaline it raises the pH of your soil. But if your soil is acidic then adding wood ash to your soil can be a great method to neutralize your soil.
