Mahindra Finance Appoints Ramganesh Iyer as Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Ramganesh Iyer has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mahindra Finance. He will resume his new position on April 10, 2025. 

Mr. Iyer has over twenty years of experience in the financial services sector, having worked in management consulting and entrepreneurship. It is expected that his appointment will foster innovation and enhance leadership in the financial services industry.

Mr Ramganesh Iyer: An Esteemed Professional in Financial Services

At present, Mr. Iyer is a Partner with Bain & Company, supervising large financial services projects for Indian and foreign clients, including fintech startups. He also worked as an investment manager at Peepul Capital. 

Besides his consultancy gig, Mr. Iyer has made a name for himself in the business world. He got into personal finance, fintech, and lending solutions, co-founding and growing two wealth-tech startups—Fisdom and PARK Financial Advisors. 

Mr. Iyer's Academic Excellence

To back up his solid analytical and technical skills, he’s got a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Mr. Iyer was awarded a gold medal for academic excellence and has a postgraduate diploma in management from the well-known Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. 

What Mr. Iyer’s Appointment Means for Mahindra Finance

A key participant in India's NBFC market, Mahindra Finance specialises in funding new and used auto and utility vehicles, tractors, cars, commercial vehicles and building equipment. The company is also active in SME lending, therefore helping to enable financial inclusion in both urban and rural markets.

Iyer's appointment as COO coincides with a period of substantial growth for Mahindra Finance. According to the company, its total net profit increased by 47.4% in Q3 FY25, reaching Rs. 917.57 crore. With his extensive knowledge and comprehensive expertise in financial services, Mr. Iyer is supposed to support customer-centric projects and help Mahindra Finance run better.
