3.Best season for winged beans cultivation

Winged bean is a vegetable known as natural meat. It is cultivated best in the monsoon season because of several favourable factors.

The vegetable is light sensitive and therefore, monsoon season provides a favourable condition for its proper growth. Also, it is almost free from pests and diseases and doesn't require much care. Almost every part of the vegetable is eatable and thus produce minimum wastage. It is harvested around October-November.

The seeds of vegetable are grown in conventional method only. Seeds germinate in 10 days. It can be spread on walls or fences and can be harvested within 60-75 days.

4.EM Solution is Best for Organic Farmers; Know How to Prepare this Beneficial Solution to Protect your Crops

Microorganisms are tiny units of life that exist everywhere in nature. Microorganisms are crucial for maintaining ecological balance. They carry out many chemical processes that are essential for all other organisms including humans to live.

Dr.Higa in the year 1982 discovered a specific group of naturally occurring beneficial microorganisms with an amazing ability to revive, restore, and preserve. He named this group of microorganisms  E.M. (Effective microorganisms). To prepare the solution the ingredients needed are ripe papaya, pumpkin, Mysore fruit, jaggery, chicken eggs, and water.  This mix makes an organic insect repellent.  It creates a barrier around the plant, protecting it from insects. The mix can be improved more by including garlic, hot peppers, or aloe vera.

The solution can be applied with the addition of husk or nutmeg powder. Add one kg of husk or nutmeg powder in 400 ml of EM solution and keep it as such for 10 days. Take 30 ml of this solution and mix it with one liter of water. It can be poured at the base of plants for well fast growth. This solution helps in quick germination, as well as the plants grow well and gain immunity.

5.Stability in tomato prices for few weeks.

This year several factors like a heavy monsoon, increase in fuel prices and festival arrivals all had a combination of effects on tomato prices. Due to the price crash in May farmers have planted a less area and in addition to that monsoon have destroyed the tomato fields in some regions of India. As a result, the supplies in Delhi, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh have decreased. During this period farmers have gone through rough days as the prices were too low.

The increase in fuel price has resulted in high transportation cost and this together with summer tomatoes arrival created a perfect situation for high tomato prices for wholesalers. But the drop in summer tomatoes arrival has helped in lowering the price little bit.

According to experts, there are chances for prices to remain stable or they can go down after the Kharif crops will make their way to the markets. But as the festive season is coming so the prices are likely to get stable and hence there are some chances of relief for farmers.

6.FAO to revise and improve food security and agricultural by introducing a new data platform.

The Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations has introduced a new public data platform to promote sustainable agricultural practices and get rid of poverty and malnourishment. This platform will store data on various fields like agriculture, food, socioeconomics, and natural resources that will help different farmers according to their region and circumstances instead of broad policies that only take care of common circumstances.

According to experts the broad policies weren't able to figure out the specific reasons behind the problems as different regions have different reasons behind their problems. And this new platform will help to neutralize the impact of COVID-19 on agriculture in various countries like India.

The new platform will collect data based on following points:

It will collect data on the impact of agriculture on water and the amount of water used under it.

It will examine the effects of fishing by estimating aquatic species distribution.

It will identify the areas around the world that are overgrazed by comparing cattle density to human density in different regions.

It will evaluate forest resources present all over the world on the basis of their conversational values.

This data will also include information of around 245 countries that is provided by the Food and Agriculture Organisation Corporate Statistical Database(FAOSTAT).
