Retail Tractor sales down by 9.86% YoY in January 2022 shows Fada Research

The sales Graph of January’22 experienced an overall downslope as compared to that of Jan ’21. Here’s how:

Seems like the tractor industry was struck by the wave of gravity in the first month of 2022. The FADA blog is out today and depicts the huge pull of the tractor brands towards decrement in sales.  While some companies have shown slight growth, most of them experienced a loss, which is quite disappointing. The retail tractor sales graph of FADA shows a slight downfall as the overall sales figure stands to be 6064 lesser than the previous year with the exact amount of total sales for jan2022 being 55,421 and that of Jan 2021 being 61,485 which evidently higher than the current year.

Here is the list of the comparison done between the tractor brands based on the variation of sales for both the years January 2021 and January 2022:

1. Mahindra and Mahindra Limited:

The ace player of the tractor industry themself faced a downfall of an estimated 666 on January 22 with the amount being 12,986 which is lower than that of Jan 2021 which was 13,652. 

2. Swaraj Division:

Swaraj Division is another pioneer from the Mahindra and Mahindra group. Looks like the pioneer also faced a downfall in the sales of January 2022 which was 9,321 and that of January 2021 10,339 which is evidently lower by 1,018 While the market share remained constant which is about 16.82%, the sales have shown variation.

3. International Tractors limited: (Sonalika and Solis)

International Tractors Limited has evidently shown a slightly lower strike n the current year their sales are around 7,600 in January 2022 which is 1,121 lower than that of the previous year January 2021 in which the sales was 8,721

4. Escorts Limited:(Farmtrac, Powertrac and Digitrac)

The sales of January 2022 for Escorts Limited was 5,457and in January 2021 was 6,957 which is evidently higher than that of 2022 by 2,360. Their market share also declined along with their sales.

5. Tafe Limited:

The sales for Tafe LTD. in Jan 2021 was 6,332 which was lower than that of Jan 2022 which is 5,430 which is about 902 lower.

6. John Deere India PVT LTD(Tractor Division):

John Deere India is one of the rainbow sheep in the tractor industry which faced a growth of 30 tractors in sales in comparison to the previous year. Sales in Jan 2022 were 4,879 and that of Jan 2021 was 4,849

7. Eicher Tractors:

Eicher one of the most renowned tractor companies also faced a downfall in the sales of Jan 2022 which was 3,602 and that of Jan 2021 was 3,864 which is slightly higher than the current year by 82 

8. CNH Industrial (INDIA) PVT LTD:

CNH also faced a downfall in terms of sales in the year Jan 2022 which is to be 2214 and that of Jan2021 which is higher was about 2,467 which is higher than that of 2022 by 253 tractors.

9. Others:

 The other tractor brands like KUBOTA, V.S.T, INDO FARM EQUIPMENTS, CAPTAIN TRACTORS. Etc also faced a downfall in sales in the month of January of the current year while one company Force Motors Pvt ltd faced a growth of 116 in sales in the previous year of January, the sales were 209 which went up to 425 in the month of January of the current year 2022. 

This year’s January was nothing less than a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs for the tractor industry, but this is how the market works. In spite of the reality, the tractor companies and economy as a whole are expected to move upwards direction in the terms of sales.
