Rajasthan took first place from Madhya Pradesh as the largest pulses-producing state. Rajasthan replaced Madhya Pradesh when the state produced 4821.84 tonnes annually. The major pulses grown in Rajasthan are moong, Arhar, gram, and moth grown in Rabi and Kharif seasons.
Madhya Pradesh has been the number 1 pulses-producing state of India until Rajasthan surpassed Madhya Pradesh making the former no.1 pulse-producing state second on the list of top pulse-producing states in India. The major 3 pulses are grown in Madhya Pradesh gram, tur, and urad the total production of pulses were 4364.74
Maharashtra is home to the largest oil seed-producing crops. And as for pulses, Maharashtra is the 3rd largest pulses-producing Indian state, producing 4224.87 tonnes of pulses, the major pulses produced in Maharashtra include Tur which has a land of 20 lakh hectares dedicated to the crop of tur dal.
4th on the list is Uttar Pradesh, in terms of pulses production in Indian states. Uttar Pradesh had a production record of pulses as 2621.15 tonnes with the majority of crops producing Gram pulse.
Karnataka is the top 5th pulses-producing state of India. In the recent year, the state produced 2170.89 tonnes of pulses Major crops included horse gram, pigeon pea, black gram, green gram, and many more, 60% percent of these crops are grown in Karnataka.
Andhra Pradesh produced 1185.43 tonnes of pulses. The state specializes in no particular type of pulses crop grown and rather has a variety of high protein pulses crops growing in Andhra Pradesh.
Gujarat's production of pulses stays 1759.93 tonnes in recent years. White Pea Bean, Cowpea Seeds. Split Pea, Bean Sprouts, Organic Pulses, Urad Dal, Black Soybean, and Moong Dal Chilka are some of the major pulses grown in Gujarat.
Yearly production of pulses in Jharkhand was recorded for 908.93 tonnes, where the majority of pulses were Moong, arhar, urad, and gram pulses.
Telangana had a pulses production of 664.14 tonnes. The major pulses grown in Telangana are Green Gram which is famously known as Moong Dal.
In the recent year the pulses grown were recorded to be 549.02 tonnes majority of which belonged to the crops of black gram and green gram crops.
