Dynamic Leadership Changes at TMA: Amrit Sagar Mittal Takes Helm as President, Harish Chavan as Vice President

TMA or The Tractor and Mechanization Association is a non-profit organization that is driving agricultural development in India. It has been operational for 40 years and is playing a highly active role in shaping the bright future of farming. The associate launched the AtmaNirbhar Krishi for Indian farmers and is now fueling the fire of success for every farmer.

While the association is already under good leadership, TMA recently hired new leaders, Amrit Sagar Mittal and Harish Chavan. Let’s know more about them.

Mr Amrit Sagar Mittal is the New President of TMA

TMA appointed Mr Amrit Sagar Mittal as the new president for 2023-2025. He is also the Vice Chairman of Sonalika Group and has extensive industry experience of 40 years in the agricultural business. Under his leadership, Sonalika Group proudly followed the vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Pride in India’.

Owing to his great understanding of the Indian agriculture farming landscape, he has been awarded awards like the Rashtrapati Udyog Patra Award, Governor of Punjab’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year Award, The Pride of Nation Award, and the Business Leader Award in 2018-19.

He is also the Chairman of the Northern Region Development Council. He is the epitome of excellence and experience. His vast experience will surely benefit TMA greatly. Both these leaders are highly skilled professionals and are here to provide a new direction.

Mr Harish Chavan is Now the New Vice President of TMA

TMA also appointed Mr Harish Chavan as Vice President of TMA. He has laudable experience of more than 15 years at the CEO level in one of the leading tractor manufacturers in India, Mahindra Group. He joined Mahindra Group 26 years ago and is presently working as Chief Executive Officer of Swaraj Division of Mahindra Group.

He was appointed to this post in April 2019 and is responsible for the profit centre of Swaraj Tractor Business.  

We believe that TMA will perform par excellently under his leadership. He is appointed for two years ( 2023-2025).

More New Leaders On Board 

Other than these two mentors, TMA changed the leadership of four more profiles. All these profiles are of Chairman roles for different departments. Let’s know more about them. 

Mr. Bharatendu Kapoor has been hired as the Chairman of marketing Committee while the Chairman of the Technical Committee is now Mr Hemant Divekar. 

Mr Bharatendu Kapoor has been associated with many leading players of the tractor industry like Mahindra & Mahindra and TAFE. He was associated with Mahindra for a long time and is currently handling the role of President - Sales & Marketing TAFE. 

Mr Hemant Divekar started his career with Mahindra & Mahindra as a Manager and has worked with brands like New Holland, JCB India, and John Deere. Other than mentoring the technical team at TMA, he is also working as Global Engineering Manager at John Deere. 

The Finance Committee of TMA is under the mentorship of Mr. Bharat Madan. He has been associated with Escort Kubota as a key member of Management Committees. He is a fellow Chartered Accountant and has a boisterous 34 years of work experience to back his excellence. 

He has also worked as Associate Vice President – Finance with Electrolux Kelvinator Limited. As he has a strong hold over Finance and accounts, Legal and secretarial, Tax, IT, and investor relations functions, we’re sure that TMA will highly benefit from his unmatched financing expertise. 

Lastly, TMA appointed Mr Narinder Mittal as the Chairman of the New Initiative Committee. Presently, he is working as a Country Manager & Managing Director for CNH Industrial. Previously, he worked with International Tractors Limited as President and COO (Corp Head Operations). As he has extensive experience in tractor manufacturing, he is fully aware of the technicalities involved in the process.
