The recent industry data shows that sales of construction equipment in FY 2025-26 were 71,227 units, down from 80,665 units in FY 2024-25. It reflects a decrease of 11.7% YoY. The overall sales in the market declined, yet the competition among the leading brands remained high.

The rate of current and future infrastructure development in the nation influences the sales within this industry. Let's have a closer look at the top performers in FY 2025-26 and their performance in March 2026.

Construction Equipment Sales in FY 2025-26: Top 5 Brands

Most of the construction machinery market is controlled by brands that offer dependable equipment, a good dealer network and utilise cutting-edge technology. Contractors, infrastructure companies, and project developers have, over the years, trusted these brands.

JCB once again leads in the market of construction equipment in India with its extensive collection of backhoe loaders and excavators. In FY 2026, the company sold 34,632 units, which is less than the 39,775 units sold in FY 2025.

ACE is the second top performer with sales of 7,416 units, but at the same time, the brand faced the highest downfall in the market share (-1.07%). Escorts Kubota has seen a major downfall of 16.78% in the total sales, which dropped to 4,556 units in FY 2025-26 from the sales of 5,475 units last year. CASE New Holland made it to the top 5 with sales of 1,882 units and a growth of 0.22% in the market share.

Tractor Gyan's Take on Construction Equipment Sales in FY 2025-26 and March 2026

This slowdown in the construction equipment market could be caused by changes in seasonal demand and less activity on infrastructure during certain times. Although the total industry sales have declined, the market leadership remains healthy.

The long-term infrastructure programs of India, including highway development, metro railway, and smart cities, are likely to boost the demand for construction equipment in the future. These initiatives will keep the industry experiencing a revived growth and high sales momentum in the months to come.
