Retail Tractor sales increase by 7.96% YoY in January 2023, shows FADA Research

The time for which every tractor enthusiast is eager has come, FADA  has released the monthly sales blog for January 2023. Every month FADA releases a sales blog on a year-to-year basis, which is basically a comparison of the company’s performance in terms of sales. The comparison is made between the sales of the current year and the previous year moth wise.

tglinebreaktglinebreakSpeaking of January 2023, all 16 tractor manufacturing brands combined made decent growth. This is a positive sign of growth after the elongated toll that has taken upon the Indian economy after the global pandemic.

Sales report for Mahindra and Mahindra

Mahindra and Mahindra have always been the top star Tractor manufacturing companies ever since it was launched. Even in the years struck by Covid-19, the company showed steady growth. Speaking of this year, in the month of January 2023, the tractor maestros sure started the new year with an amazing start. The company sold 16,981 tractors with a market share of almost 23.21%. The figures for January 2023 surpassed the figures for 2022 by 3993 tractors sold this year than that on Jan 22 when the company sold around 12988 tractors and had a market share of only 19.17%.

Sales report for Mahindra and Mahindra Swaraj Division

The Swaraj division of Mahindra and Mahindra is yet another favorite of farmers from all around the country. In the month of January 22, the company sold 9,333 tractors with a market share of 13.77%, whereas the sales for this year’s January surpassed that of the previous year by 3128 tractors more sold. On Jan 23 the firm sold 12,461 tractors with a market share of 17.03%.

Sales report for International tractors limited (Sonalika Tractor)

International tractors Ltd. was one of the rare companies that faced somewhat a slight loss in terms of tractors sold because this year in January’23 the firm sold 8945 tractors with a market share of 12.23% whereas, in the month of January 22, the firm sold 9121 tractors and had a market share of 13.46%. This is evidently higher by 176 tractors more sold in the previous year than in the current year.

TAFE Ltd. is famous for its tractor designs and impeccable performance delivery, TAFE enjoyed a profit in terms of tractors sold in Jan’23 when the company sold 7960 tractors with a market share of 10.88% which is higher by 1658 tractors more sold this year than in Jan’2 when the firm sold 6,302 tractors and had a market share of 9.30%.

Sales report for Escorts Kubota Limited (Farmtrac, Powertrac and Digitrac)

Escorts Ltd. is one such company that is ruling the land of agriculture in India ever since it came into existence, the reason being amazing products at affordable prices. In the Jan’23, the firm sold 7,670 tractors and enjoyed a market share of 10.48% whereas in Jan’22 the firm sold 5,457 tractors and had a market share of 8.05 %, the difference between the sales of both years was 2,213 tractors more sold in Jan ‘23 than that in Jan’22.

John Deere India Pvt Ltd is known for its wide variety of tractors and great engine quality, which stays constant in all of its tractors. In Jan’23 the firm sold 5812 tractors and its market share was 7.94% which is higher by 935 tractors sold last year, because in Jan’22 the firm sold 4,877 tractors and the market share was 7.20%.

Eicher is one of the most trusted tractor companies in India, it is famous for the types of tractors that it manufactures, their quality, and the precise range that it offers which is fit for the pockets of Indian farmers. The firm sold 4,900 tractors in Jan’23 and enjoyed a market share of 6.70% whereas in Jan’22 the firm sold 4,791 tractors and had a market share of 7.07% this difference in both years was 109 tractors more sold in Jan’23.

CNH Industrial Pvt. Ltd is known for manufacturing the best quality tractors which are packed with amazing features capable of delivering power-packed performance. In Jan’23, the firm was able to make sales of 2,861 tractors sold and a market share of 3.91% whereas in Jan’22 the firm sold 2,233 tractors with a market share of 3.30%. The differing figure is 628 tractors more sold in Jan’23.

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd. is yet another pioneer of the Indian agricultural market. Kubota in Jan’23 sold 2318 tractors and enjoyed a market share of 3.17% while in Jan’22 sold 1438 tractors and a market share of only 2.12%. The figures were higher for Jan’23 with 880 tractors more sold, it is a remarkable growth for Kubota because it had faced its fair share of lows in the Pandemic.

V.S.T Tillers Tractors Limited is one of the best tractor-manufacturing companies India has ever witnessed, it is a decent company that is not so famous and mainstream. The company sold 568 tractors and enjoyed a market share of 0.78% in Jan’23 whereas in Jan’22 the firm sold 414 tractors and had a market share of 0.61%. The difference is 154 tractors more sold in Jan’23 than in Jan’22.

Sales report for Force Tractors

Force Motors Limited is the company that manufactures the best quality tractors, which are packed with amazing features, and available at a budget that is fit for the pockets of all Indian farmers. The firm sold 445 tractors in Jan’23 and had a market share of 0.61%. Whereas in Jan’22 the firm sold 427 tractors and had a market share of 0.63%.  Which is 18 tractors more sold in Jan ‘23.

Sales report for Captain Tractors 

Captain Tractors are the infamous standard tractors that are fit for all kinds of lands and all types of soils.  Captain Tractors are famous for having amazing quality tractors which are packed with features that are too good to be true. In Jan ‘23 the firm sold 236 tractors with a 0.32% market share, while in Jan ‘22 it sold 170 tractors and the market share was only 0.25%. Which is 66 tractors more sold in Jan ‘23.

Sales report for Gromax Agri Equipment  LTD ( Trakstar Tractors )

Gromax Agri Equipment LTD. is known for ruling the Indian agriculture market with amazing quality tractors, and amazing engine performance. The firm sold 229 tractors and a market share of 0.31% in Jan ‘23 whereas in Jan ‘22  the firm sold 213 tractors and the market share stayed at 0.31%. The difference in sales was 16 tractors more sold in Jan ‘23.

Sales report for Preet Tractors 

Preet Tractors Pvt Ltd is an Indian tractor brand that is near and dear to every Indian. The firm sold 227 tractors and a market share of 0.31% in Jan ‘23 where as the firm sold 375 tractors in Jan ‘22 and a market share of 0.55% which was more than this year’s sales by 148 tractors. Making it one of the 2 companies that faced a steep low in terms of sales in the tractors.

Others

Others include OEMs accounting for less than 1% market share. The firms sold 1543 tractors and the combined market share was 2.11% in Jan ‘23 which is way lower than that of Jan ‘22 when they sold 9625 tractors and had a market share of 14.20%  the difference was 8082 tractors more sold in Jan’22.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the overall sales in Jan’23 were higher than that of Jan’22 by 5392 tractors. By the figures, we can conclude that the aftershock of covid-19 has started to surpass and as the society as a whole move towards the light experience growth, the Indian tractor market is no different.
