Retail Tractor sales increased by 14.59% YoY in October 2023, shows FADA Research

FADA has released its tractor sales report for October 2023. According to the report, 62,440 tractor units were sold in India during October 2023. As compared to September 2023, there is a hike of 14.59% in Oct 2023.  

This hike indicates positive sales trends in the market. In this blog, we’ll cover brand-wise tractor sales in October 2023. 

Tractor Sales October 2023:

1. Sales report for Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra is a leading tractor manufacturer in India. It is known for offering technically advanced tractors. In Oct 2023, Mahindra sold 14,180 tractors. As compared to Oct 2022, the sales of Oct 2023 are higher.

In Oct 2022, Mahindra sold 13,024 tractor units. With these sales, Mahindra topped the list. 

2. Sales report for Mahindra & Mahindra Under Swaraj Division

Swaraj is a sub-brand of Mahindra & Mahindra and this tractor manufacturer also managed to win Indian farmers’ hearts with its tractors. In Oct 2023, Swaraj grabbed second place in this report with record sales of 11,054 tractor units. This sales was only 9,492 in Oct 2022.

Speaking of market share, Swaraj’s market share in Oct 2023 is 17.70% while it was at the mark of 16.14% in Oct 2022.

3. Sales report for TAFE Limited (Massey Ferguson Tractor)

In Oct 2023, TAFE Limited sold a total of 8,671 tractors and was successful in owning a 13.89% share of total market in Oct 2023.

This sale is more than the sales of Oct 2022 as during this period, TAFE Limited sold only 8,165. The total market share was 13.88%. 

4. Sales report for International Tractors Limited (Sonalika Tractor)

International Tractors Limited has managed to grab the 4th place on the list. The manufacturer managed to sell over 7,690 tractors in Oct 2023 and it grabbed 12.32% market share.

In Oct 2022, International Tractors sold 6,516 units and grabbed 11.08% market share. 

5. Sales report for Escorts Kubota Limited (Farmtrac, Powertrac, and Digitrac)

Escorts Kubota has built tractors for all kinds of needs of Indian Farmers. In Oct 2023, the sales of Escorts Kubota Limited were 6,261 units. In Oct 2022, the sale was 5,508 units.

Speaking of the market share, Escorts Kubota owned a 10.03% market share against the 9.36% market share in Oct 2022. 

6. Sales report for John Deere

John Deere is a famous name in the Indian tractor industry and has built a huge reputation amongst the Indian farmer community.

In Oct 2023, John Deere sold 4,579 tractor units and claimed a 7.33% share in the total tractor market. In Oct 2022, the recorded sale was 4,614 units. The total market share of John Deere in Oct 2022 was 7.84%.

7. Sales report for Eicher Tractors

Eicher Tractors sold 4,267 tractors in Oct 2023 and it managed to grab a 6.83% market share. The Oct 2023 sales are higher as compared to Oct 2022 as only 3,654 tractor units were sold in Oct 2022. The market share during this period was 6.21%. 

8. Sales report for CNH Industrial (New Holland tractors)

The sales of CNH Industrial (India) Pvt Ltd in Oct 2023 were 2,476 units and the company holds 3.97% of the total market share. This sale is better than Oct 2022 as the company only sold 2,345 units in Oct 2022 and the total market share was 3.99%.

9. Sales report for Kubota

In Oct 2023, Kubota sold 1,091 units, which represents 1.75% of the total market share. In Oct 2022, the brand sold a total of 1,401 units and owned 2.38% of the total market share.

10. Sales report for VST Tillers Tractors

VST sold 298 tractor units in Oct 2023 and its market share was 0.48 %. In Oct 2022, this brand sold more tractors. The Oct 2022 sale was 523 units and its market share was 0.89%. 

11. Sales report for Gromax Agri Equipment

Gromax Agri Equipment is a budding tractor manufacturer in India as it sold 257 tractor units in Oct 2023. The market share of this brand was 0.41%. Its performance was better in Oct 2022 as 279 units were sold in Oct 2022. The total market share was 0.47%. 

12. Sales report for Force Motors Limited

Force Motors Limited sold 232 tractor units in Oct 2023 and it holds 0.37% market share. In Oct 2022, the brand sold 253 tractor units. The market share during this period was 0.43%. 

13. Other Tractor Brand Oct 2023 Sales

In India, there are many other tractor manufacturers and the total sales of all these other tractor brands was 1,384 in Oct 2023. These other brands owned a 2.22% market share. In Oct 2022, the sales of these other brands were 3,049 units and the market share was 5.18%.
