For the tractor industry, the retail sale report of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations(FADA) is a reliable source to learn about how many tractors are sold by the leading tractor manufacturers.
According to the report, the FADA Retail Tractor Sales December 2023 experienced a 0.22% increase. The total tractor sales was 78,872 in December 2023 against the sales of 78,700 tractor units in December 2022.
In addition, the report throws light on the CY’23 tractor sale data as well. The CY’23 tractor sale has experienced a 7% growth. During CY '2022, the total tractor sale was 8,13,923 units while it surged and touched the mark of 8,71,627 units in CY’23.

FADA Tractor Sales December 2023
Mahindra & Mahindra is the first place holder in this list with 18,580 tractor unit sales and 23.56% of market share. As compared to December 2022, this tractor manufacturer has experienced a slight decline in tractor sales as the total retail tractor sale was 19,393 units and its market share was 24.64%.
2. Sales report for Mahindra & Mahindra Under (Swaraj Division)
Swaraj Tractors operates under Mahindra & Mahindra and is a trusted tractor manufacturer brand name. During December 2023, this brand showed great growth as it sold 14,377 tractor units and seized a market share of 18.23%.
During December 2022, this tractor sale was 12,922 units with 16.42% market share.
3. Sales report for International Tractors Limited (Sonalika Tractor)
At the 3rd place is International Tractors Limited with sales of 11,335 tractor units and a 14.37% market share. This sales performance is slightly better as compared to December 2022 as during this period, the brand sold a total of 9,731 tractor units with a 12.36% market share.
Escorts Kubota Limited sold a total of 8,154 tractor units in December 2023 and was able to seize 10.34% market share. In comparison to December 2022, this performance is better as the brand sold 7,761 tractor units and its market share was 9.86% last year.
TAFE was the 5th largest-selling tractor brand in India during December 2023 as this brand sold 8,056 tractor units and its market share was 10.21%. The YoY sales have shown growth because the brand sold 7,873 tractors during December 2022 and its market share was 10%.

Eicher Tractors sold 5,643 tractors in December 2023 and its market share was 7.15%. There is a slight increase in YoY sales because Eicher sold 5,024 tractors and its market share was 6.38% in December 2022.
7. Sales report for (John Deere) India PVT LTD
John Deere sold 5,232 tractor units and its market share was 6.63% in December 2023. This sale is slightly less as compared to December 2022 as the brand managed to sell 6,507 tractor units during that period. The market share was 8.27%.
In the sales report for CNH Industrial, specifically for New Holland tractors, December 2023 reported sales of 3,349 tractor units, which reflects a marginal increase as compared to the 3,290 units sold in December 2022. The market share of this brand was 4.25% in December 2023 and 4.18% in December 2022.
9. Sales report for (Kubota) Agricultural Machinery India PVT LTD
Kubota sold 1,518 tractor units and its market share was 1.92% during December 2023. The YoY sale growth has experienced a great decline as the brand sold 2,386 tractors with a 3.03% market share during December 2022.
10. Sales Report for (Trakstar Tractors) Gromax Agri Equipment LTD
Gromax sold 358 tractors and succeeded in grabbing a 0.45% share of the total tractor market of India during December 2023. This is a better performance in comparison to December 2022 as the brand sold 288 tractors and its market share was 0.37%.
VST sold 288 tractors in December 2023 against the 461 tractors in December 2022. Hence, this brand experienced a slight decrease in YoY tractor sales. The market share was 0.37% and 0.59% respectively for December 2023 and December 2022.
The Captain tractor brand sold a total of 285 tractor units and recorded a market share of 0.36% during December 2023, which is slightly higher than the sales of December 2022. In December 2022, the brand sold 223 tractor units and its market share was 0.28%.
13. Sales Reports of Other Tractor Brands
The FADA report told us the collective sales numbers of many other tractor brands in India. Collectively, many other trusted tractor brands of India sold 1,697 tractors and their market share was 2.15% during December 2023.
As compared to December 2023, these other brands performed better in December 2022 as they sold 2,841 tractor units with a 3.61% market share.

Even though the YoY growth has experienced a slight increase, it was a positive end of year 2023 for the Indian tractor industry.
