About Dr. T.R. Kesavan 

Dr. Kesavan has over four decades of experience working in the vehicle and agricultural machinery sector. A man of great knowledge on farm mechanisation and sustainable agriculture, he has played a significant role in advancing the use of technology in farming. 

He joined TAFE in 1994 as the Sr. VP (Marketing and Product Strategy) and covered a long journey by getting promoted to different positions. He was promoted to the position of Group President of Corporate Relations & Alliances in August 2019. And was honoured with the post of Director in May 2025. 

His advocacy of incorporating technologies such as drones, AI, and hydroponics into agricultural practices has made him a thought leader in the industry. Dr. Kesavan’s insights have been prominent in generating initiatives to increase farmers’ income and the adoption of environmentally friendly farming practices.  

About TAFE (Tractors And Farm Equipment) Ltd. 

The Chennai-based TAFE was incorporated in 1960, and the firm is the third largest manufacturer of tractors globally and the second largest manufacturer in India by volume.
