India's retail tractor business kept growing in July 2025. From the same month last year, sales of retail tractors were up by 10.62% because of good Kharif crops, government subsidies, and easy access to loans. 

Retail Tractor Sales in July 2025

The retail tractor sales market performed better in July 2025 than in July 2024. Total units sold in July 2025 were 87,788, an increase from the 79,363 units sold in July 2024. The increase indicates high demand due to the improved distribution of rainfall and increasing farm mechanisation. 

Mahindra & Mahindra Tractors was the leader, selling 20,603 units, with a gain in market share of 0.24% in July 2025. Swaraj took the second spot, with sales of 16,724 units, reflecting an increase of 2.82% over the previous year.

Sonalika Tractors followed closely, selling 12,534 units, witnessing a 0.23% increase in market share from July 2024. While holding the fourth spot, Massey Ferguson recorded sales of 9,646 units, experiencing a 1.07% increase in market share compared to July 2024. Escorts Kubota retained steady growth with sales of 9,196 units, showing an increase of 11.15% year-on-year.

Retail tractor sales went up by 7.10% from April to July 2025 compared to the sales of 2,74,732 units, the same time in 2024, driven by timely monsoons and strong financing support. Mahindra & Mahindra led the YTD sales, selling 68,707 units, with a 0.29% growth in market share compared to the same period in 2024.

Swaraj Tractors followed with 56,273 units, but its market share declined by 0.42% over the same period last year. Sonalika Tractors reported sales of 40,092 units, with a 0.14% improvement in market share.

Massey Ferguson sold 33,817 units, recording an increase of 10.31% from the previous year.  Escorts Kubota stood at the fifth spot with 32,174 units, experiencing a 9.63% increase in sales from April-July 2024.

Regional Leaders: State-Wise Retail Tractor Sales from April to July 2025

In July 2025, retail tractor sales were uneven countrywide. Uttar Pradesh was at the top of the chart, with 44,984 retail tractors sold, and its market share was 15.29%. Rajasthan came next, with 39,087 units, and a market share of 13.28%. 

Madhya Pradesh held the third position with 35,929 units, occupying 12.21% of total sales. Maharashtra registered 33,165 units sold and an 11.27% market share. Karnataka occupied the fifth spot, contributing 6.84% to overall sales.

Conclusion 

The retail tractor business continued to rise in July 2025. This growth was facilitated by the retail tractor market's growth due to favourable weather conditions and farmers' easy access to financing. This growth will probably continue into the next festive season as demand is constantly increasing everywhere.
