Mallika Srinivasan Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award

The Express Awards for Women Entrepreneurs 2025 in Mumbai honored 13 inspiring women across diverse sectors. Among these, Mrs. Mallika Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), received the Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Shrinivasan's Opinion About the Award 

While receiving the award, Mallika Srinivasan observed, "There's so much said about women." She also added that though economic empowerment is also a road to development, education is one. And, from what she knows, people and optimism are the actual differentiators for success; they will sum up your success. 

Venu Srinivasan also praised her wife, saying that she multitasked in a manner he had seen very few others do. Srinivasan said she handled her business, too, and made sure the children completed their homework, studied effectively, and ranked highest in the class.

Mallika Srinivasan: More than a Tractor Queen

Mrs. Mallika Srinivasan has been called the Tractor Queen of India. Under her leadership, the Rs 10,000 crore company has become the third-largest tractor manufacturer in the world, with a presence in over 100 countries. No wonder she was the unanimous choice for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the jury for the Express Awards for Women Entrepreneurs, 2025. 

As a philanthropist and businesswoman, she has focused on small and marginal farmers and technology. Mrs. Srinivasan has made a difference in precision farming, pediatric cancer therapy, folk art preservation, and free eye care for people in need.

In addition to assisting Tirunelveli's educational and hospital facilities, she has helped the Sankara Nethralaya and Cancer Hospital in Chennai. Through the Indira Sivasailam Foundation, she has promoted and supported Carnatic Music.

Mrs. Srinivisan leads efforts to explore hydrogen and CNG fuels and has developed electric tractors. She believes in technology's revolutionary power and Indian engineering. She is the first private sector expert to lead the Public Enterprises Selection Board.

Jury's Opinion of Mrs. Srinivasan 

Parekh sees Srinivasan as "a professional entrepreneur" who has had a unique journey spanning agriculture and industrial manufacturing. He added that Mallika Srinivasan's strategic vision, strong leadership, and deep commitment to small and marginal farmers stand out in the sector.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw calls Srinivasan "a strong business leader who is very determined and driven with a good understanding of her business." She also finds useful manufacturing policy guidance on her journey.
