Significantly towards sustainable production, Swaraj Tractors, a Mahindra Group company, has partnered strategically with Mahindra Susten, the Group's clean-tech arm. Comprising a 26 MW solar energy plant in the Bathinda area, they are building Punjab's biggest captive solar group project. This project aims to enhance Swaraj Tractors' 50% renewable energy contribution, supporting Mahindra's commitment to sustainability and climate change action.

A Revolution for the Acceptance of Green Energy

Mahindra Susten is the driving force behind this innovative solar energy project, which will provide clean electricity to four Swaraj Tractor manufacturers in Mohali and Dera Bassi. More than 60 million kWh of renewable energy will be generated annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 54,600 tonnes. Swaraj Tractors uses massive amounts of solar power to boost performance through energy efficiency and develop new green energy standards in tractor manufacturing.

Opinion of the Leaders on this Initiative

President of the Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr Hemant Sikka, commented, "With this groundbreaking solar project, we are taking a pioneering step in introducing green energy at such a large scale in tractor manufacturing for the first time in India." He also mentioned that the project advances towards a sustainable future and exactly complements their aim of Transforming Farming and Enriching Lives.

Echoing this view, Mr Gaganjot Singh, CEO of Swaraj Division, Mahindra & Mahindra LTD., said that this solar project is evidence of their constant will to build a better, greener future. Mahindra Susten aims to achieve its renewable energy objectives and leverage its expertise to transform the energy landscape in Punjab. The company will emerge as a significant independent power producer following the initial project in Punjab.

Deepak Thakur, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Susten Private Limited, aims to assist businesses and industries in identifying viable clean energy solutions. They will do this by customising power plants for industrial and commercial customers. Mr Thakur added, "We are proud to partner with Swaraj in their journey and to bring our renewable energy expertise to Punjab. Together, we aim to drive the adoption of green energy and contribute to India's transition toward a renewable future."

Mahindra Group: A Leader in Renewable Energy

The Mahindra Group has set the bar for 100% renewable energy through its sustainability programs. The relationship between Mahindra Susten and Swaraj Tractors makes the Group more sustainable. India will be able to live better in the future thanks to new industry standards.

Swaraj Tractors: Supporting Mahindra's Vision

Swaraj Tractors is the second-largest and fastest-growing "by the farmer, for the farmer" tractor brand. Many of its employees are farmers, so they can help build reliable, high-performance tractors. Swaraj Tractors manufactures 15-65 HP tractors and offers complete farming solutions and inventive horticultural mechanisation.

The Road Ahead

Swaraj reinvents farming's future using renewable energy sources driven by sustainability. As the Mahindra Group pursues its renewable energy goal, partnerships like these will help create a greener India.
