In the highly competitive above 50HP (TREM IV & Above) tractor market, John Deere regained the lead for May 2025, selling 524 units and taking a 36.2% market share, up from 33% in May 2024. So far, in fiscal year FY26, John Deere has sold 1,000 units, which gives it a 35.77% market share, which is even stronger than before.
John Deere's sustained dominance is due to its best-selling above 50HP (TREM IV & Above) models, including John Deere 5310 Trem IV, John Deere 5405 Trem IV 4WD, and John Deere 5075E Trem IV, which are a great balance of power and performance.
Mahindra & Mahindra (Tractor Division) came in second, with 465 units sold in May 2025, down from 509 the previous year. This sale gives them 32.1% of the market share. Mahindra sold 931 units in FY26, with 0.44% growth in the market share.

Punjab was the top state for retail (RTO) sales of above 50 HP (TREM IV) tractors from April to May 2025, with 565 units sold, a huge 20.21% of the overall total.

Madhya Pradesh came in second with 407 units sold, 14.56% of the total sales. Uttar Pradesh came in third with 351 tractors sold. During this period, these three states alone accounted for almost half of India 50+ HP tractor purchase.
