Moonrider raises $6 million to boost electric tractor development

Bengaluru-based electric tractor manufacturer Moonrider has raised USD 6 million in its Series A funding round, marking a major milestone in its journey to reshape India’s agri-mechanisation landscape. The round was led by pi Ventures, a leading deep-tech investment firm, with additional participation from Singularity AMC and existing investors Advantedge Founders and Micelio Fund.
Moonrider Focus on Engineering, Battery Tech & Future Product Range
Moonrider announced that the fresh infusion of capital will strengthen its efforts in
- Improvement of battery performance
- Refinement of drivetrain systems
- Completion of durability and field testing in various soil types and climate conditions
- Faster development and readiness of new tractor models
Moonrider is preparing electric tractors in the 27 HP, 50 HP, and 75 HP categories, all planned for commercial rollout soon.
Moonrider Tractors First Deliveries by February Next Year
Co-founder and CEO Anoop Srikantaswamy confirmed that the company expects to begin its first batch of deliveries by February next year. The brand has already secured MoUs for the supply of 6,000 tractors over the next three years, showcasing strong market confidence in its offerings.
Moonrider is also running customer trials across multiple regions as a part of its extensive field-testing program.
Technology-Driven Moonrider Tractors Designed for Indian Farmers
Founded in August 2023 by Anoop Srikantaswamy and Ravi Kulkarni, Moonrider aims to build heavy-duty electric tractors that lower operating costs and improve efficiency for farmers and fleet operators.

- In-house battery systems
- Mobile app connectivity
- Fast charging support
- Over-the-air (OTA) updates
- Multiple charging options
- Home socket
- AC charger
- Portable DC charger (cuts charging time to around 30 minutes)
