Retail Tractor Sales in May 2026

In May 2026, Mahindra had the highest market share, 23.32% of the retail tractor market, by selling 19,073 tractors. The company sustains its 1st position by capitalising on its extensive dealer network and the brand’s goodwill with farmers. 

Swaraj was in 2nd position with 15,202 units sold in the month. The brand continued to be popular in the states where demand was relatively high. Sonalika did well with sales of 11,119 units in May 2026. They are selling tractors with different features to suit the different needs of the farmers, and thus broaden their market.

Massey Ferguson sold 10,659 units in May 2026, and occupied the 4th place in the list. Escorts Kubota Limited sold a total of 9,717 units in May 2026 and moved down to the 5th spot. These 5 tractor brands together accounted for approx. 80.43% of total retail tractor sales in May 2026, continuing the trend of industry consolidation among top brands.

Retail Tractor Sales YTD (April 2026 to February 2026)

The retail tractor sales market has a great beginning in FY 2026-27. The total sales of retail tractors during April 2026 to May 2026 were 1,58,657 units. Mahindra continued to be the leader with sales of 36,797 tractors, followed by Swaraj with a market share of 19.06% and sales of 30,236 units. 

Sonalika sold a total of 21,854 tractors during April to May 2026, which is 13.77% of the total sales by the brands collectively. Massey Ferguson and Escorts Kubota remained in the 4th and 5th positions respectively with sales of 19,098 and 18,542 units.

State-Wise: Retail Tractor Sales YTD (April 2025 to February 2026)

Uttar Pradesh has the highest retail tractor sales of 27,182 units during April to May 2026, with a 17.13% market share. Rajasthan sold a total of 25,370 units, moving to the second position. Madhya Pradesh holds the 3rd position with sales of 17,818 tractors.

Maharashtra occupied the 4th spot with sales of 12,891 units. Karnataka sold 12,081 tractors during the first 2 months of FY 2026.
