Retail Harvester sales in May 2026: Sold 1,299 units, Decline 12.11%

Total retail harvester sales in May 2026 were 1,299 units. It is a 12.11% degrowth from 1,478 units sold in May 2025. Let’s go through the full stats, state-by-state and brand-by-brand.

Retail Harvester Sales in May 2026: Brand Performance Analysis

No. 1 in the list of the total retail harvester sales is Kartar with 158 units and the highest decline of 6.04% in the market share. Preet is close behind, selling 146 units and holding a 11.24% market share, moving up in the list from May 2025. 

Vishal held onto the 3rd place with sales of 143 units. Its market share fell by 1.37% year-on-year. Rounding out the top five are Malkit and John Deere with sales of 114 and 80 harvesters, respectively. 

The brands, like Punni and Surinder, quietly put up more efforts and have an increased market share of 2.21% and 0.76% with impressive sales of 34 and 23 units, respectively. 

YTD Retail Harvester Sales from April 2026 to May 2026

Two months into FY27, and the cumulative picture is beginning to emerge. Here are the top five brands on the year-to-date scoreboard.  

At the front, Kartar is leading with 335 units sold in the year so far in April and May, facing challenges to its momentum and grip because of 5.59% downfall in the market share. Vishal is in second place with 332 harvesters sold. Not too far behind.  

John Deere has come off to a flying start in FY27 with 318 YTD units as compared to 248 units sold during this time in 2025. Preet and Malkit come in at number 4 and 5, respectively, with sales of 262 and 189 units.

Retail Harvester Sales by State - Who's in the Lead?

• Uttar Pradesh continues to dominate, representing 32.04% of total sales with 907 units sold. UP has once again proved that it is the undisputed engine of the harvester market.
• Punjab holds steady second spot with sales of 330 units and 11.66% market share.
• Madhya Pradesh remained at Rank 3 with 274 units and 9.68% market share. 
• Telangana and Haryana ranked 4th and 5th, with sales of 238 and 236 harvesters, respectively.

Tractor Gyan's Take

May is not a very good month for the harvester segment. A slow start in FY26 should be concerning for the market. We hope that the long-term picture for India's harvester market will definitely be better. The brands that are innovating and expanding their reach, especially in newer states, are the ones to watch as we head deeper into 2026-27.
