Union Minister of Roads and Transport Nitin Gadkari launched the country's first CNG tractor on 12th February'2021 at around five in the evening on Friday, which he is describing as a means of increasing the income of farmers. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were also present at the event. Nitin Gadkari also interacted with the journalists after the program.
Announcing the launch of the country's first CNG tractor, the government has revealed the characteristics of this tractor. The government says that this CNG tractor will save farmers one lakh rupees per year. Apart from this, bio-CNG can be produced from the straw that is burned in the fields. This will reduce pollution in the coming time. That is, the fuel of this tractor will not only save economically but will also help in saving the environment. The government says that farmers used to burn the waste (residue) of crops. Now by selling it, he will be able to increase his income. In this way, CNG tractors can bring big changes to the agriculture sector. 

 
Union Minister of Roads and Transport Nitin Gadkari called it another big step in the field of doubling the income of farmers. He said- "The farmer spends about 3 to 5 lakhs of diesel in 1 year. This way the tractor will save about three lakhs." The owner of this tractor is Nitin Gadkari himself and he says that- "I first converted my own tractor into a CNG-driven tractor. Then it was sent for approval and after researching it for 6 months, now we are going to launch this tractor among you. . This is a revolutionary step in the field of agriculture."
Adopting this Tractor, agriculture Waste will be converted into Bio CNG. This is a revolutionary step. This tractor is quite economical and the farmer will recover his cost in a year and a half. And will save about 2-3 lakh rupees every year. The biggest feature of this tractor is that it causes minimal air pollution. Thus it is very beneficial for the environment as well.
Later the government will try to open factories in villages to make gas from cow dung. This will lead to formation of Self-reliant villages and eventually, a self-reliant India will be formed. Therefore, the government's aim is to create self-sufficient villages.
Union Minister of Roads and Transport Nitin Gadkari gave the calculation as a 5-tonne straw can make 1 ton Bio CNG and 7 tons of cotton straw can produce 1 ton of Bio CNG. It can also be made from the best of soybean and rice. It is based on the philosophy of making wealth from the West. Eventually, the government is making efforts are on to gradually run every resource used in agriculture in Bio CNG. The Opening of the BIO CNG Center will also provide new means of employment. In this way, cow dung will become a very valuable thing. If the cow dung gets ₹ 5 kg, then no animal stray. The farmer can earn around ₹ 20000 from cow dung and around ₹ 10000 from cow urine.
