Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector (Mahindra tractors, Swaraj tractors & Trakstar ) announced its tractor sales numbers for January 2020. Domestic sales in January 2020 were at 22,329 units, as against 20,948 units during January 2019, recording a growth of 7%.
Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during January 2020 were up by 4% at 23,116 units, as against 22,212 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 787 units, lower by 38% over last year.
"We have sold 22,329 tractors in the domestic market during January with a growth of 7 percent over last year. The tractor demand is likely to see positive momentum, led by the expectations of a good Rabi output and the government''s renewed focus on the rural sector through higher allocation as announced in the Union Budget," M&M Farm Equipment Sector President Rajesh Jejurikar said.
