The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations or FADA has released its retail tractor sales report for January 2024. A good Rabi crop output and ideal weather conditions are the two major factors that helped this industry to overcome the persistent slowdown.
FADA Tractor Sales report shows 88,671 tractors were sold during 2024 with 21.16% YoY growth against the 73,184 total tractor sales in January 2024.

FADA Tractor Sales in January 2024
With a total retail sale of 20,474 tractor units in January 2024, Mahindra & Mahindra became the highest-selling brand in India once again. This manufacturer has managed to obtain a 23.09% market share for the respective period.
Compared to January 2023, this tractor manufacturer has registered a commendable YoY growth. Mahindra & Mahindra tractor sales in January 2023 were 16,969 tractor units and its market share was 23.19%.
2. Mahindra & Mahindra Tractor Sales, Under Swaraj Division, in January 2024
Swaraj, the sub-brand of Mahindra & Mahindra, is the second highest-selling tractor brand in India as it sold 16,456 tractors in January 2024 and seized a market share of 18.56%. This brand has maintained quality and performance in all of its tractor ranges and results are showing in its sales.
Swaraj tractor sales in January 2023 were 12,465 units and its market share was 17.03%.
3. International Tractors Limited, Sonalika Tractor, Sales in January 2024
International Tractor Limited is the 3rd highest-selling tractor brand in India in January 2024. Sonalika's January 2024 tractor sale is 11,515 units and it acquired a 12.99% market share.
Speaking of its YoY sales growth, the brand experienced a hike in performance as it sold 8,952 tractors and its market share was 12.23% in January 2023.
4. TAFE (Massey Ferguson) Tractor Sales in January 2024
TAFE tractor January 2024 sale is 11,003 tractors. With this sale, TAFE managed to hold 12.41% of the total tractor market in India. This performance is better as compared to the TAFE tractor January 2023 sale as the brand sold 7,966 tractors and held a 10.88% market share during that period.
Escorts Kubota Limited's January 2024 tractor sale is 8,185 units. Escorts Kubota Limited’s market share in India's tractor market stood at 9.23% after this successful sale. The brand sold 7,675 tractors and was at 10.49% market share in January 2023.

Eicher's January 2024 tractor sale is 6,226 units and the brand seized a market share of 7.02%. If we compare it with the Eicher January 2023 tractor sale, January 2024 remained a better month. Eicher's January 2023 tractor sale was 4,902 units and its market share was 6.70%.
By selling 5,739 tractors, John Deere became the 7th highest-selling brand in India in January 2024 and achieved a 6.47% market share. John Deere's January 2023 tractor sale was 5,782 units and its market share was 7.90%.
8. CNH Industrial (New Holland Tractor) India PVT LTD Tractor Sales in January 2024
CNH sold 3,501 tractors in January 2024 and managed to bag a 3.95% market share. This performance shows a growth in YoY sales of this brand. CNH sold 2,858 tractor units in January 2023 and its market share was 3.91%.
9. Kubota Agricultural Machinery Pvt. LTD. Tractor Sales in January 2024
With the sale of 1,732 tractor units, Kubota wrapped up January 2024 with a 1.95% market share. It sold 2,324 tractor units during January 2023 and its market share was 3.18%. This way, this tractor manufacturer registered a drop in its YoY tractor sales.
10. Captain Tractors PVT. LTD Tractor Sales in January 2024
Captain Tractors January 2024 sale remained 921 units and its market share was 1.04%. The brand performed well as compared to January 2023 as its January 2023 sale was 236 units and its market share was 0.32%.
11. VST Tillers Tractors Limited Tractor Sales in January 2024
VST is a leading tillers and tractor manufacturer in India and sold 483 tractors in January 2024. The market share remained 0.54%. Speaking of its YoY performance, the brand experienced a slight cut in its sales and market share.
During January 2023, VST sold 568 tractor units and its market share was 0.78%.
12. Adico Escorts Agri Equipments PVT. Tractor Sales in January 2024
With a sale of 396 tractor units, Adico Escorts seized 0.45% of the total tractor market of India during January 2024. The brand sold 104 tractors in January 2023 and its market share was 0.14%.
