Retail Tractor Sales Register a 15.46% Decline in February 2025, with 63,806 Tractors Sold
The Indian retail tractor industry declined in February 2025, with sales down 15.46% across the major brands. Let's examine tractor retail sales year over year, year to date, and state-wise.
February 2025 vs. February 2024: Retail Tractor Sales Strong Growth Across Leading Brands
In February 2025, leading manufacturers in the Indian tractor industry experienced a downfall from February 2024. Mahindra sold 15,506 units, keeping its top spot but showing a negative deviation of 11.35 % from 17,493 units in the same month last year.
Swaraj also saw a noticeable decline in demand but somehow managed to land in second place with 12,736 units sold. However, its market share increased by 1.25% in February 2024. Sonalika secured the 3rd position by selling 8,350 units in February 2025, a decrease of 15.28% from last year's 9,856 tractor units.
Massey Ferguson took 4th position with a 10.31% market share by selling 6,576 tractors, less than 8,313 tractors, in February 2024. Escorts Kubota Escorts Kubota (Farmtrac and Powertrac) fell to the 5th position with sales of 6,572 tractors in February 2025.
Year-to-Date Tractor Retail Sales (April 2024 - February 2025 vs. April 2023 - February 2024) Performance Brand-wise
The year-to-date (YTD) sales from April 2024 to February 2025 also exhibited a downfall. Leading the market with 1,90,511 units, Mahindra exceeded the count of 1,86,754 tractors from last year, attesting to its dominance with a 23.87% market share.
Swaraj maintained its increasing slope, jumping straight away from 1,45,397 units from April 2023 to February 2024 to 1,51,174 units from April 2024 to February 2025. Closely behind, Sonalika increased sales from 1,03,873 units in April 2023 to February 2024 to 1,05,922 units in April 2024 to February 2025.
Massey Ferguson showed a downfall, with 92,223 units sold from April 2024 to February 2025 compared to 99,041 last year. Escorts Kubota secured the 5th position with sales of 79,935 units. The tables mention the market share & sales number of other brands.

Regional Leaders: State-Wise Retail Tractor Sales Performance
Uttar Pradesh dominated retail tractor sales in February 2025, contributing 16.03% (1,27,964 tractors sold). Madhya Pradesh came in second place, with a share of 13.29% (1,06,069 tractors sold).
Rajasthan is in third place with a 12.97% market share and sold 1,03,475 tractors. Gujarat placed fourth with 82,028 tractor sales and 10.28% market share. Maharashtra sold 76,933 tractors with 9.64% market share, taking it to fifth place.

Mahindra, Swaraj, and Sonalika are the top brands in the Indian retail tractor market in February 2025. Mechanized farming, technical advancements, and new policies are driving the tractor market to rise in the next few months.
