With a total retail sale of 6,225 units in Feb’26 against the 6,804 units sold in Feb’25, India's construction equipment market experienced an 8.51% YoY decline.
Here is a closer look at how the top brands performed in February 2026 and YTD (April 2025 to February 2026).

Construction Equipment Sales in February 2026

  • JCB managed to maintain its highest seller position in February 2026 with a recorded sale of 3,047 units against 3,150 units in February 2025, confirming a 3.27% YoY decline. Even so, JCB's market share climbed to 48.95%, up from 46.30% in the same month last year.
  • ACE recorded a monthly sale of 670 units in February 2026 against the 850 units sold in February 2025. This comes out to a YoY decline of about 21.18%. The company's market share slipped to 10.76% from 12.49% a year ago.
  • Escorts Kubota sold 429 units in February 2026, nearly flat compared to 427 units in February 2025. This is a marginal YoY growth of about 0.47%. Its market share improved to 6.89% from 6.28%, making it one of the few brands that held steady in a tough month for the industry.
  • Ajax Engineering recorded a YoY decline of around 11.09% by selling 417 units in February 2026, against the 469 units in February 2025. Its market share came in Feb’26 and remains at 6.70%, slightly lower than 6.89% in the same month last year.
  • Bull Machines recorded a healthy YoY growth of about 21.23% with sales of 217 units in February 2026 against the 179 units sold in February 2025. Its market share also became 3.49% in Feb’26, which is higher compared to the 2.63% MS in Feb’25.

The combined construction equipment sales of these top 5 players in Feb’26 remained at 4,780 units out of the total industry sales of 6,225 units. That accounts for roughly 76.79% of all construction equipment sold during the month.

Construction Machinery Sales YTD (April 2025 to February 2026)

When it comes to the YTD (April 2025 to February 2026) sales of the construction machinery industry in India, the sector recorded an overall decline of 12.86% with a recorded YTD Feb '26 sales of 63,100 units against the 72,413 units sold in Feb '25.

  • ACE is at the second position with sales of 6,625 units during the YTD period, compared to sales of 8,218 units during the corresponding period the previous year. This is a decline of around 19.39%. The company's market share during the period is at 10.50%, compared to the 11.35% reported during the corresponding period the previous year.
  • Escorts Kubota has registered a sale of 4,070 units in the YTD period, whereas in the same period last year, the company had registered a sale of 4,969 units. There is a decline in the sales of the company, which is around 18.09%. However, the company has registered a decline in the market share, which is now 6.45%, whereas it was 6.86% in the previous year.
  • Ajax Engineering has sold 4,032 units in the period ranging from April 2025 to February 2026, whereas in the same period last year, the company had sold 4,307 units. There is a decline in the sales of the company, which is around 6.39%. However, the company has registered a rise in the market share, which is now 6.39%, whereas it was 5.95% in the previous year.
  • Case New Holland delivered 1,704 units during April 2025 to February 2026, compared to 1,708 units in the same period last year. Sales were nearly flat YoY. Market share improved to 2.70% from 2.36%, showing consistent performance even in a down market.

Conclusion

For the construction industry of India, Feb’26 came out as a tough month, and the YTD April 2025 to February 2026 also saw a significant drop in sales. The recorded February 2026 decline is 8.51%, whereas the YTD sales declined at a rate of 12.86%.
