Retail harvester sales in April 2026: Sold 1,301 units, Decline 3.27%
As we enter the new fiscal year, the latest data for April 2026 reveals some interesting changes in the harvester industry. Total retail harvester sales were 1,301 units in April 2026. It is a slight industry degrowth of about 3.27% compared to the 1,345 units sold in April 2025. Here is the complete Retail Harvester Sales breakdown for April 2026.
Retail Harvesters Sales in April 2026
Vishal is the top scorer this month, in a tight race for the top position. Vishal sold 189 units. It accounts for 14.53% of the market, although its share has fallen 2.87% from last year's same month.
Kartar had a close call, selling 176 harvester units with 13.53% market share, but still Kartar saw the greatest YOY decrease in market share (4.02). The clear winner in terms of growth is John Deere! It rose to 3rd place with 133 units (+16 from April 2025), and market share increased by 1.52%.
Preet and Malkit were in 4th and 5th place with 115 and 75 units, respectively. Interestingly, other players like Hira Agro and K.S. Agrotech showed impressive growth, nearly doubling their sales from the previous year.

UP ranked 1st, accounting for an impressive 33.05% of total sales and 430 units sold.
Rank 2 - Punjab: Retail Harvester Sales in April 2026
Punjab: The heart of mechanisation took the 2nd spot with 189 units (14.53% market share).
Rank 3 - Tamil Nadu: Retail Harvester Sales in April 2026
Tamil Nadu: A surprise entry at Rank 3! Tamil Nadu is emerging as a fast-growing market for harvesters in South India, with 118 units (9.07%).

Reasons Behind the Downfall in Harvester Sales in April 2026
- The market is naturally going down after a record 45% growth in FY26.
- When the wheat harvest was at its height in early March, demand for new machines in April was naturally low.
- Most of the big farmers and Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) upgraded their equipment in the boom period last year.
- Many farmers are likely to be waiting to buy newer models with better technology or better fuel efficiency, which could have been launched in 2026-27.

April is usually a transition month, and a 3.27% decline is not a cause for panic after the booming growth of the last financial year.
