सभी दिखा रहे हैं 1 उत्तर

Plough and harrow are different because they are used at different stages of land preparation and serve unique purposes. While a plough is used for deep tillage to turn over and break hard soil, a harrow is used after ploughing to further refine the soil by breaking clods and levelling the surface. Their design, working depth, and functions make them distinct from each other.

  • Function:

Plough: Performs primary tillage by cutting, turning, and loosening the soil.

Harrow: Carries out secondary tillage by smoothing the field and preparing a fine seedbed.

  • Depth of Work:

Plough: Works deeper in the soil.

Harrow: Operates at a shallow depth.

  • Soil Impact:

Plough: Inverts and breaks the soil completely.

Harrow: Breaks clods and levels the field without inverting the soil.

  • Usage Timing:

Plough: Used first to prepare raw land.

Harrow: Used after ploughing for finishing touches.

  • Types:

Plough: MB plough, Disc plough, Chisel plough, Reversible plough.

Harrow: Disc harrow, Spike-tooth harrow, Spring-tooth harrow.
